Rhinoplasty surgery can turn bad. Jennifer Grey got a nose job done after Dirty Dancing. The rhinoplasty went perfect, but the plastic surgery totally left her with a generic look. She didn't have her special thing anymore and her acting career went downhill after her nose job.

I don't understand why they say she has a generic look. I also don't understand why it hurt her career. She was very pretty before she had her nose fixed, but I think she is even prettier now.

Her particular appeal was tied up in the way she looked before...it fit her personality and she was really adorable. For whatever reason, she lost that when she changed what worked. In my opinion, she made a mistake.

Why have you said her rhinoplasty went perfectly? It didn't. She had to have a second surgery to reconstruct her nose and the so called 'generic' look was the best they could give her to fix their mistake. I think she looks fabulous in both time frames, she should've simply never considered surgery.

There is no doubt she loses her individuality when she lost her original nose. Those who think she is prettier after have a sad understanding of beauty. Perhaps we should all look like generic nobodies. I doubt she would have got the part had it not been for her quirky cute nose. Similarly, the success of the film was in part due to her sexy, cute, individuality. Of course combined with Patrick's powerful, controlled, simmering, masculine sexuality.

The first time I saw her I was immediately infatuated (Red Dawn). No one should change their looks. The differences are what make us unique.
I thought she was just the cutest girl ever in Dirty Dancing. Awsome actress, can't believe she hasn't had a major role in a hit film since really. Shame :-( both patrick and jennifer were perfect people for the roles in DD!
I think she wasn't perfect before surgery, but people loved her with her wonderful, extraordinary face. She is perfect now but I miss her "old" face...I still love her "dirty dancing" smile with sparkling eyes and characteristic nose.

The orginal look was what made her the cute girl in Dirty Dancing.
I now have trouble seeing the similarities in the pictures of her now, even considering the 23 years that have past since the movie making.

I dont think her new nose looks bad on her at all...but it does make her look ordinary....To me her natural nose made her stand out...in a pretty, sexy kind of way...
I think that she was a beautiful girl before she had her nose done. Yes she is pretty now but not the same as before. God made us all to be different and her nose made her who she was, a very pretty individual and sexy too!
